Welcome to Volpy 4.0!
As the saying goes when opportunity knocks...open the door! But in order to grow, it is not enough to just open the door you must have the courage to walk through it, even if it takes you on a path to the edge of your comfort zone. My door opened this month when I was offered the opportunity to attend Bentley University to get my MBA in a brand new 11 month program. What? Not quite the 'edge' you were expecting from me? I know, I know, usually my 'edges' have come on mountain trails (like the picture above - which is not my foot but it is a trail I have hiked) or from some other adrenaline seeking activity. However keep in mind this blog is the 4.0 version - it has been awhile since my path has led me back to the classroom!
Tomorrow is the first day of orientation, and I admit that more than once today I had to fight off urges to run to Staples for a new lunch box and pack of No. 2 pencils. In all seriousness, I am excited to meet my classmates, who hail from all corners of the world. And while it feels like a bit of a luxury to be going back to school full time, I expect that this program is going to challenge me in ways I can't even imagine. I am sure in the weeks to come, luxurious will most likely not be a word you will find in my future posts. :)
So welcome to my edge. Opportunity knocked, I walked through the door, and here I am standing looking out into the unknown. It is time for me to hit the reset button and I am excited for the adventure to begin . . .
